Mothers Day, what a great day to start training for a Tough Mudder in October! My husband has done the Spartan Race (which I seriously regret not doing) and the Tap 'N Run (which I don't regret as much, since I don't drink). Finally we found a race that we can both do! First of all, I am not an athlete. My days are usually spent lounging on the couch doing homework and playing with my 3 year old son. I'm writing this blog more as a motivator for myself to see how far I've come than to have others read it. I lead a pretty average life: mother, Army wife (even though I hate that terminology, I'm a wife like all the others), grad student (MFT!), non-runner, etc. I don't drink or smoke and I eat crappy most of the time. My goal is to get off the couch and run this Tough Mudder with my husband! So, I will be putting down my daily fitness achievements for the next few months.
Day 1: After a nice morning/afternoon of being lazy, I decided to go to the gym at 3pm. I ran 3 1/2 miles on the elliptical at level 1, did 15 minutes on the lateral trainer, 1/2 mile backwards on elliptical, and another 2 miles forward on the elliptical.
Tonight is a healthy dinner (turkey sausage, green beans, peppers and onions, roasted chickpeas), then a crapload of homework and bed. I'll try to get on here tomorrow to keep myself motivated! Thanks for reading if you did!
